I had traveled throughout the Southwest as a child with my parents, but grew up in the East and later lived in California. When I moved to Colorado in 1988, I began to explore in more detail. Mountain biking in Moab, trips to find rock art through the Southwest, and ultimately buying a second home in the Tucson area has meant lots of time in the desert. I tend to think of our Southwest in terms of Red Rock Country, Canyon Country, and Sonoran Desert Country. This is clearly Red Rock Country.
